A taste of something international

Tuesday was International Day held in a true Blue atmosphere. Starting already in the morning the camp site seemed to be busy from scouts moving around and getting ready to welcome guests. All scouts were supposed to move around in the campsite and visit other groups. It was an invitation that all scouts accepted.

Girl Guiding Edinburgh were excited about all the visitors coming during the day. All guest were delighted to taste the Scottish specialities. It was chips that did not look very different than any other kind of chips. However, a couple of varities were new to many of the scouts since there were chips with the taste of mackies.

Scouts from St. Jean Dudelange – for the first time in a camp outside Luxembourg -  you were also offered som specialities. Here you could try out melted cheese with mustard served on dark bread. Looking for something sweet,

Svenstrop SMU from Sweden was a good place to head for. Here you could be tempted with something sweet, pancakes and a hair massage. An excellent combination!

At a certain point all scouts get hungry. On Tuesday was just the same. So during the afternoon preparations were made for the dinner of that day. At dinner the scouts enjoyed a communal dinner for more than 1,000 scouts and a menu prepared on a wok and with a taste of something international.

All together a very nice day with plenty of activities. In the evening it was time for entertainment, in which a lot of scouts from both Denmark and outside Denmark took part in. If you want to develop scouts´ life across border you do not need to go that far away. Just go to Vendelbo Jamborette in Mosbjerg.
